Scope
In this workshop we will talk about the European project “BABO: Bilingual and Bicultural Outlook”. An educational research project coordinated by "Baby Erasmus British International Preschool" and the research group "Nodo Educativo" of the University of Extremadura. This project also counts with the collaboration of seven other partners (Universities, educational institutions and companies) from Ireland, Belgium, Austria, Portugal and Spain.
For three years, the partners of this project have been researching bilingual education in preschool age (0-6 years) and developing educational materials that can facilitate the learning of a second language through play. The results of this project are:
- A theoretical guide on the "theory of multiple intelligences" connected to the learning of a second language in preschool age.
- A practical guide with more than one hundred activities adapted to the different intelligences/abilities and connected to the learning of a second language.
- Educational Gamification. Ten offline educational games and four online games to encourage the learning of a second language.
- Educational cartoons. Ten episodes for children from 1 to 6 years old to acquire vocabulary in a second language.
- APP with educational games.
All the resources are connected at a pedagogical level in order to work on the same vocabulary in the second language.
